The primary reason for the existance of AFSA is the Legislative Program. AFSA's Legislative program has 3 levels, International, Division, and Chapter.
AFSA International carries out the legislative program at the federal level to include the White House, Congress, Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and other offices/agencies as necessary.
The division level primarily works as a information flow mechinism between the chapters and AFSA International. The division representative helps the chapter legislative trustee answer questions, and improve the chapter program.
The chapter legislative program is key in keeping the general membership aware of issues affecting quality of life and benefits. Chapter 872 keeps its members informed through briefings at our monthly general membership meetings, emails, newsletters, and the chapter website.
