Six Month Reprieve on TRICARE Cuts

The House finally followed the Senate's lead and passed legislation that will stop deep cuts in TRICARE payments to doctors.

According to Politico.com, the house has taken action along with the Senate to stop deep cuts to TRICARE payments to doctors for six months.

 The Senate approved the $6.4 billion bill last Friday, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had held back acting in hopes of putting pressure on senators to also send her a long delayed jobs and economic relief package. When that measure collapsed Thursday, Pelosi no longer had reason to wait and almost immediately moved to the 415-1 vote.

This has been an ongoing problem for a number of years that has been continually pushed to the right by Congress. Unless our elected officials take action to find a final solution to this problem, expect more late games saves for this issue.
